Ghana's tourism sector continues to show strong potential, with the country recording 1,303,962 international tourist arrivals in 2025, according to figures disclosed by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts.

The figure represents an increase from the 1,288,804 international tourist arrivals recorded in 2024, showing continued growth in international interest in Ghana as a tourism destination.

Tourism generates billions in revenue

International tourism also made a significant contribution to Ghana's economy. Reports citing the Ministry indicate that tourism generated approximately GH¢4.34 billion in revenue in 2025.

Tourist spending supports a wide range of businesses, including hotels, restaurants, transportation companies, tour operators, souvenir sellers, entertainment businesses and communities around major attractions.

Ghana's leading tourist attractions

Several attractions continue to draw visitors from Ghana and around the world.

Among the country's leading attractions are Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Kakum National Park, Bunso Arboretum Eco Park, Cape Coast Castle, Manhyia Palace, Kumasi Zoo, Accra Zoo, Elmina Castle, Shai Hills Resource Reserve and Aburi Botanical Gardens. Together, these attractions recorded more than 1.3 million visits according to figures reported for the country's leading sites.

Ghana's diverse tourism offerings—including its beaches, waterfalls, forests, wildlife, historic sites and cultural heritage—give the country enormous potential to attract even more visitors.
