Tema Harbour

Tema Port remains the largest Port in Ghana. The Port handles around 12millions of tonnes each year without the exception of cement, petroleum, textiles and aluminum products. Tema Port spans 3.9millions sqm. Tema receives 1,650 ships per year including roro, general cargo, tankers, laden vessel and cruise ships.

It handles more than half of Ghana’s international maritime trade and is strategically located, only 30 km away from, Accra, the capital city. It also serves as a logistics hub in Greater Accra Region by offering various services. As the plan of the government of Republic of Ghana to make Tema Port the most important trading hub in the West Africa Sub-Saharan Region, the government is planning to expand the port further.
