The Vatican Museum, Italy
The Vatican Museum is located in the Vatican City in Italy. It was founded in the year 1506 in the Vatican City by the then Pope Julius II. As the public museums of the Vatican City, the Vatican Museums display works from the immense collection amassed by the Popes of the Catholic Church from the sixteenth century onwards.
The Vatican Museums have astonishing attractions such as Raphael Rooms, Sistine Chapel, New Wing, Pio Clementino Museum, Salone Sistino, Profane Museum.

In 1973, collection of Religious Art was added to the museums. In October 2006, the museums celebrated their 500th anniversary where there was a permanent opening of the excavations of a Vatican Hill necropolis to the general public.
Though the Vatican City is considered the smallest city in the world, the city can boast of having one of the best tourisms attraction in the world. The museums have other attractions such as the Egyptian Museums, the Niccoline Chapel, the Room of the Animals, the Pinacoteca Art Gallery.
